West of Scotland Archaeology Service Historic Environment Record Datasets

Five GIS layers derived from data held and maintained by the West of Scotland Archaeology Service, on behalf of the Councils of Argyll & Bute, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City, North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire, and West Lothian, and of the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park Authority.

Datasets included in the folder are as follows:

-WoSAS_Event_Points - a point dataset identifying locations where archaeological fieldwork has taken place -WoSAS_Event_Polygons - a polygon layer identifying the locations and extents of areas covered by archaeological fieldwork events -WoSAS_Site_Points - a point dataset identifying the locations of archaeological sites, monuments and find-spots -WoSAS_Site_Polygons - a polygon dataset identifying the extents of archaeological sites and monuments -WoSAS_Site_Polylines - a polyline layer defining the route of linear archaeological monuments such as Roman roads
